Jodi Bird Named International Voice of Musical Theatre 2019

A Welsh performer has been named Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod’s International Voice of Musical Theatre for 2019.

Jodi Bird, aged 21, wowed audiences and adjudicators with her performances of Woman, originally sung by Stephanie J Block, Tell me on a Sunday by Marti Webb and 14g, a stand alone written by Janine Tesori but made famous by Kristin Chenoweth on the stage of the Royal International Pavilion in the competition’s final on Thursday 4th July.

From North Wales to the Gold Coast for local performer

A local performer from Llannefydd, North Wales, who was named the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod’s 2018 International Voice of Musical Theatre is gearing up to perform on Australia’s Gold Coast on Sunday 21st October.

As part of her prize, 21-year-old Mared Williams will join hundreds of exceptional performers in the Gold Coast Eisteddfod’s Musicale. The show is a rousing celebration of musical theatre and one of the highlights of the seven-week long Australian festival of dance and music.

Gold Coast beckons for Wrexham performer

A Wrexham performer who was named the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod’s 2017 International Voice of Musical Theatre is gearing up to tread the boards on Australia’s Gold Coast on Sunday 15th October.

As part of her prize, 22-year-old Megan-Hollie Robertson will join hundreds of exceptional performers in the Gold Coast Eisteddfod’s Musicale. The show is a rousing celebration of musical theatre and one of the highlights of the seven-week long Australian festival of dance and music.

Musical theatre hopefuls offered chance to perform at iconic Australian Eisteddfod

The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod partners with Australia’s Gold Coast Eisteddfod once again to offer the 2017 Voice of Musical Theatre competition winner a 10,000-mile trip down under (Entries to close on Friday 3rd March 2017).

The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod has partnered with one of the world’s biggest cultural festivals for the second year running, to offer musical theatre hopefuls the chance of winning a trip of a lifetime.

Llangollen winner will be invited to join Aussie Gold Rush

A fabulous 10,000-mile trip Down Under to one of the world’s biggest cultural festivals is the prize for one lucky winner at this summer’s 70th Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod.

The title of International Voice of Musical Theatre in July will come with a paid-for trip to Australia’s Gold Coast Eisteddfod in October to sing in their Musicale event.

The invitation follows a visit to last year’s Eisteddfod by representatives of the Gold Coast Eisteddfod, held in Queensland’s stunning tropical beachside city for the past 33 years.

The Musicale follows seven weeks of competition featuring over 70,000 singers and dancers, most of them under 20, and including 350 bands and orchestras, 175 choirs, almost 1500 dance groups and over 3,000 solo dancers. (more…)
