Tuesday 4th July 2017, 3.30pm – Llangollen Town Hall
All Friends are cordially invited to this special event to mark the start of the first Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in 1947. The celebration will be heralded by an outside performance in front of the Town Hall by the Dinas Bran Jazz Band from 3:30pm prior to the arrival of two international groups at 3:50pm. Some of these will be arriving in style aboard a vintage coach in Castle Street. Our featured groups are Baao Children’s and Youth Choir from the Philippines and the Loughgiel Dancers.
They will be welcomed inside the Town Hall by our president Terry Waite and the Baao Choir will sing first. This will be followed by the ‘Story of the Llangollen Eisteddfod’ as told by Gethin Davies and supplemented by a showing of rare footage from the archives that was produced for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Then it is back to the present with a performance from our good friends from Loughgiel who will bring the concert to a lively finish.
It should be a fitting and exciting event and we hope that you will be able to attend, and that you do tell others!
