On the Field

Exploring Peace Together

Discover what peace means to you and to your neighbours. Get involved in workshops and peace chants with the Southern Shaolin Temple Warrior Monks, celebrate the WCIA Young Peacemakers Awards and witness the bespoke artwork from young people of Plas Madoc.

Our international competitions include Senior Children’s Choir, A cappella Group, Open Folk Solo, Vocal Solo (age 16-19), Voice of Musical Theatre and the announcement of the Children’s Choir of the World results. For more information on competitions visit In the Pavilion

On our three Outside Stages, we will be having workshops with the Southern Shaolin Temple and dance workshops with NEW Dance, folk music with the GOGS and acoustic music with singers Sonya Smith, Mair Thomas and Chris Greve throughout the day. The field will come alive with the sound of world music, International Groups, Circus skills with Panic Circus and much more

Into the evening from 4.30pm our international participants join together in ‘The Gathering’ in an exchange of dance and culture not to be missed before the outside stages come alive with South American and Spanish vibes with the Synergy Live Band, Eastern European folk music with gypsy jazz from Kibitz and Rockabilly with Hellfire Devilles.

The World Stage

East Tennessee State University ETSU Chorale is a university choir made up of music majors and non-majors from Tennessee. 10.30am
Portland Phoenix Chamber Choir Hailed as an “accomplished, powerful, slick and tonally precise choir” from Portland, Oregon. 11.00am
Wolverhampton Grammar School Chamber We are a very diverse, welcoming group who love performing. 11.30am
Sonya Smith A Singer Songwriter influenced by the traditions of blues, roots and country music. 12.15pm
Synergy Live Band A trio performing Flamenco, south American and Spanish music. 1.15pm
Kibitz A 6 piece band from Leeds performing energetic and soulful klezmer/ Balkan inspired music 2:15pm
