We welcome thousands of pupils to our festival every year, which provides them with the perfect educational opportunity to experience cultural diversity and international interaction.

“We took 50 children to the Eisteddfod for a school trip. The field had enough exhibits and stalls to amuse them all day, there were people in beautiful costume from all over the world walking the field and we even managed to get a picture with the amazing Bryn Terfel! Inside the tent we were treated to amazing choirs and dance. We spent all day there and it flew by. I would recommend this for a totally immersive experience which you won’t forget, with colours, sounds, and smells of the diverse food and the people…amazing friendly wonderful place.” (Teacher, 2017)

Every year thousands of people throng through the gates of the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. Wandering around the field, they are captivated by the sight of international visitors in fabulous national costume, entertained by groups performing on one of three outside stages (frequently joining in themselves), and fed by some of the many international food outlets which take up residence for the week.

Those who wish, can sit a while in the pavilion itself and listen to performances by leading choirs or vocal and instrumental soloists, or watch the amazing choreography of dancers from around the world dressed in national costume with unusual accompanying instruments.

Designed for all ages, and fully inclusive, there literally is ‘something for everyone’, so it is with great pleasure that we invite schools to take advantage of our special schools offer and bring a coach-load of children and young people to experience this utterly unique occasion. All of this for only £6 per pupil to attend on either Tuesday 2nd, Wednesday 3rd, Thursday 4th, or Friday 5th July 2024.

Maybe you are looking for a way to reward pupils who have achieved something special over the year, or you just can’t face yet another trip to a theme park; perhaps you need to improve your EDGC involvement or wish to raise awareness of people of other cultures amongst your pupils. Maybe you just want your pupils to experience the richness that music and dance bring to so many lives. Whatever the reason we can guarantee you a fun day out even if it is raining!
