The first male voice choir to take the stage at the inaugural Eisteddfod in 1947.
In 23 competitive visits to Llangollen the Choir has achieved six wins, five second and two third prizes which included a hat-trick of wins in 1960, 1961, and 1962 .
Founded in 1922 and based in Slaithwaite, Huddersfield the Choir has only had five Musical Directors in its 95 years’ existence. George E Stead conducted for 46 years which included the 1947 visit and the successes of the sixties.
Since Thom Meredith became the Musical Director in 1989 the Choir has publically performed more than 300 different items of songs from memory without the aid of notation.
