Liverpool  Philharmonic  Youth  Choir is  for  young  people  aged  13-18  from  in  and  around Liverpool, and performs throughout the year at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and across the region.

The Youth Choir regularly performs with Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir including  in  the  popular  Spirit  of  Christmas  concerts  at  Liverpool  Philharmonic  Hall.  The Youth Choir’s repertoire covers a wide variety of musical styles including classical, jazz, folk, and  world  music,  with  new  commissions  and  collaborations  regularly  being  performed  by the choir.

The Youth Choir has been recognised as one of the top choirs at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod  in  previous  years,  and  in  July  2014  the  Choir’s  Director,  Simon  Emery,  was awarded with the prize for the Most Inspiring Conductor.

In 2013 the Youth Choir performed at the BBC Proms alongside Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall in The Big Proms Bear Hunt with Michael Rosen, and in July 2014, the choir performed James MacMillan’s Little Mass with Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and choir. In 2012 the Youth Choir were invited to perform at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics which was broadcast live to a worldwide audience of over 900 million people.
