Mother Touch Group of schools was officially launched in 2010. It was formed with the mindset of developing a well-rounded, grounded or holistically developed child. In this concept, the extrovert child has the opportunity to express their talent, learn to appreciate culture, heritage, as well as working as a team.
Made up of children in the age group, 5 -16years, the group seeks to display the different types of dances that are done in Zimbabwe, while showcasing the diverse cultures that are in her nation. The use of the African drums, rattles as well as the Marimba (a deep-toned xylophone of African origin) in her dances makes the performances by this group captivating as well as entertaining.
With several awards to her name, including the most recent, National Allied Arts Eisteddfod (Zimbabwe), 2 Honours in: 2nd Position – Manomano Marimba challenge – a winner’s challenge – 2015, National Junior Marimba Trophy – 2015 and 2nd position – instrumental Ensemble – International Musical Eisteddfod 2016. The group is making an amazing mark in the nation of Zimbabwe as she is steadily becoming a great force to reckon with, while setting the pace for other groups in her category.
New challenges are always an opportunity for Mother Touch Dance Group to explore different ways to communicate through music and dance, while learning and above all enjoying products of her team effort.
