Romanas Kudriašovas

Romanas Kudriašovas, a recent London National Opera Studio alumnus, has performed roles from the Baroque to the 20th century including Il Conte LE NOZZE DI FIGARO (cover) for Glyndebourne Festival, Sacristan TOSCA for Liverpool Philharmonic and Wales Millennium Centre, Elviro SERSE, Antenor DARDANUS, Valens THEODORA, Mr. X in Kalman’s ZIRKUSPRINZESSIN, Bill AUFSTIEG UND FALL DER STADT MAHAGONNY and Lockit THE BEGGAR’S OPERA.

As a member of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Mr. Kudriašovas performed as both soloist and as ensemble member.  Other recent engagements include oratorios in venues throughout Europe and Asia, including the Luxembourg Philharmonic Hall, The Rudolfinum in Prague, the new Mariinsky Theatre Concert Hall (St Petersburg), Kanazawa Hall, Tokyo Opera City, Singapore Philharmonic, the Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall and others.

Romanas has given recitals in Germany, the UK and Lithuania, frequently performing at the National Philharmonic Halls of Vilnius and Kaunas, presenting varied programmes encompassing Britten, Schumann and Mahler.

Born in Lithuania, Romanas has played violin and piano from the age of seven. After initial studies as a choral conductor he studied singing formally at the Music and Theatre Academy in Lithuania (Bachelor of Music), Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg (Masters) and lastly at the Wales International Academy of Voice with Dennis O’Neill and Nuccia Focile (Masters with distinction). Supplementing his education Romanas has trained at the Georg Solti summer Bel Canto Academy with Leo Nucci, Barbara Frittoli, Silvana Bartoli and Richard Bonynge, as well as masterclasses instructed by Kiri Te Kanawa, Della Jones and Laurent Pillot.
