Saturday 8 July- Globe Stage 12.00
Tenovus Cancer Care’s latest research (in conjunction with Royal College of Music and Imperial College London) has biologically proven that singing in a choir for just one hour can significantly reduce stress hormones and boost your immune system, meaning that cancer patients could be in a better place to receive and respond to treatment. Not only that but singing reduces feelings of anxiety, loneliness and depression and lifts the spirit too.
Sing with Us is a project run by Tenovus Cancer Care, our choir members are a mixture of cancer patients, carers and the bereaved. Through a network of 19 choirs Tenovus Cancer Care are able to support well over 1500 people every week who are affected by cancer in communities across Wales and England.
Sing with Us Wrexham launched 4 years ago and now have over 80 members in total. They perform regularly throughout the year at local community events as well as more high profile events including appearing with Britain’s Got Talent Star Paul Potts! This is the choir’s 4th year appearing at the International Eisteddfod. Occasionally the Wrexham choir joins up with our larger family of Sing with Us choirs at special mass choir events. Being part of a Sing with Us choir is great fun, it’s good for you and the best thing is there is no need to be a great singer, there are no auditions! If you have been affected by cancer and would like to join us – all you’ve got to do is call our free support line on 0808 808 1010 or visit our website at
