Plymouth “Kindness Capital” of the UK

Port town named as the kindest place in country, but research reveals that the nation believes people are less kind than a decade ago.

People from Plymouth do good deeds more frequently than anywhere else in the UK, but people across the UK believe that we are less kind as a nation than we were 10 years ago.

The survey, commissioned by international peace festival the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod to mark World Kindness Day [Monday 13th November], also revealed that 83% of people across the country believed that doing a good deed positively affected their mental health. More than half the women polled agreed that undertaking an act of kindness boosted happiness, compared to just a third of men.
