Panedeni is a mix of the Welsh word for a cup of tea and Adani tea which is a special tea from Aden Yemen.
The band is fronted by Yasmine Latkowski, who mixes her Middle Eastern influences with English and Welsh, showcasing a multicultural mix of original music. The band includes Tim Eastwood on bagpipes and violin, Reuben Allen on bass with Joelle Barker and John Ramm on percussion.
Panedeni is supported by Arts Council Wales in composing music with Welsh and Arabic language and musical influence. We are collaborating with musicians across the country and boarders from Wales to Egypt. Songwriting collaborations have already included contributions in Welsh from Sion Rickard of LoFi Jones and rising star Ayoub Boukhalfa who brings a message of love in the face brutality in the Middle East.
Panedeni is about expanding horizons and crossing cultural borders, blurring the lines between Eastern and Western folk music and focussing on collaboration with amazing individuals to bring their unique experiences to the forefront of an exciting musical project.
