Competitions: A6. Junior Children’s Choir (Prelim) (Wednesday 3 July)
Biography: Ysgol Gymraeg Teilo Sant Choir has been established for many years and is an important part of the school’s extra-curricular activities.
The choir are very busy and often contribute to local activities in Llandeilo and the surrounding area.
The choir has a tradition of competition and we have had a great deal of success over the years. The school competes annually at the Urdd Eisteddfod and has won numerous awards as individuals, groups and choirs including the Cerdd Dant competitions.
We have also succeeded in reaching the final of S4C’s Côr Cymru competition on two occasions, which again is a great opportunity and experience for the pupils.
The choir will also appear on S4C’s Dechrau Canu Dechrau Canmol program soon.
We see the opportunity to attend the Llangollen Eisteddfod as another different opportunity that the pupils will benefit greatly from.
