Llanfest’s Double Bill of Sponsors

Two Wrexham businesses have been announced as sponsors for this year’s Llanfest, Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod’s hugely popular finale festival on Sunday 7th July 2019.

Wrexham-based housing developer, SG Estates, and Wrexham Lager are joint sponsors of Llanfest 2019, which has a star-studded line up this summer, including The Fratellis, The Coral, The Pigeon Detectives and Dodgy.

The Fratellis and The Coral to headline Llanfest 2019

Celebrated British rock bands, The Fratellis and The Coral have announced their double headline appearance at Llanfest, the finale party of the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, on Sunday 7th July in Llangollen, North Wales.

The influential band from the Wirral, The Coral, who recently released their critically acclaimed new album Move Through The Dawn will fill the International Pavilion with perfectly-crafted melodic and eccentric songs as well as renowned classics including Dreaming of You, Pass it On and In the Morning.

Also taking to the stage will be award-winning Scottish band, The Fratellis, who roared into their second decade with their fifth album, In Your Own Sweet Time in 2017. The three-piece will rock the Pavilion with their famous top 10 singles, Chelsea Dagger and Whistle For The Choir as well as some new hits which push the band’s mantric sound in vivid new directions.

Royal Harpist next in line to star in International Eisteddfod’s 2019 Concert Series

To celebrate tickets going on sale to the general public today <Wednesday 12th December 9am>, Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod announces Royal Harpist and Vice President, Catrin Finch, as the next addition to its star-studded evening concert line-up for 2019.

Internationally renowned harpist and composer to H.R.H The Prince of Wales, the Vice President of the Eisteddfod, Catrin Finch is one of the most accomplished and versatile harpists of her generation. Showing talent from an early age, Catrin had the honour of being Royal Harpist for four years before delighting audiences as a worldwide performer.

Llangollen Eisteddfod gets festive with Christmas Carol Concert

The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod is to host a festive carol concert, to celebrate the launch of the 2019 concert series line-up.

The concert on Sunday 16th December will be filled with young local talent with performances from Welsh singing sensation and finalist of the 2018 Vocal Solo competition, Elan Catrin Parry, who will be showcasing songs from her debut album, “Angel” alongside other special guests; pianist Julian Gonzales, Llangollen Operatic Young ‘Uns’, Ysgol Dinas Brân Band and Wrexham County Youth Choir.

Jools Holland and Gipsy Kings to star in International Eisteddfod’s 2019 Concert Series

This week, Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod announces its star-studded evening concert line-up for 2019.

Returning festival favourite and Vice President of the Eisteddfod, Jools Holland, will entertain the Royal Pavilion audience with his legendary Rhythm and Blues Orchestra on Monday 1st July. The jazz, blues and swing showstopper will launch the 2019 concert series with an unforgettable toe-tapping extravaganza of live music, kindly sponsored by Kronospan.

Welsh singing sensation wows ‘Down Under’

The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod’s International Voice of Musical Theatre 2018 winner, Mared Williams travels to the Australian coast for prestigious Gold Coast performance.

As part of her prize, 21-year-old Mared Williams from Llannefydd, North Wales, joined hundreds of exceptional artists in the Gold Coast Eisteddfod’s Musicale. The show is a rousing celebration of musical theatre and one of the highlights of the seven-week long Australian festival of dance and music.

After wowing audiences and adjudicators with her performance on the stage of the Royal International Pavilion this July, Mared travelled over 10,000 miles to the picturesque Gold Coast for a once in a lifetime performance.

From North Wales to the Gold Coast for local performer

From Llangollen Pavilion to Major Record Deal

Local singer, Elan Catrin Parry, is singing the praises of Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod for landing her a major record deal with the same label as Katherine Jenkins and is urging other aspiring performers to enter this year’s competition.

The talented 16 year-old from Wrexham competed in the finals two years ago at the Llangollen Eisteddfod, and along with top marks from festival judges, scored herself an audition with British record label, Decca.

North Wales Charities Acknowledged at National Awards

ScottishPower Foundation announces winners of its annual ceremony

Two charities from North Wales have taken home a share of a £30,000 award fund after being announced as runners-up at the ScottishPower Foundation Awards last week. Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod was runner-up in the Community Impact and Engagement category, while Bangor University’s Reaching Wider partnership was runner-up in the Education Award.
