Wales’ Johns’ Boys Wins 2019 Choir of the World
Following a week of intense competitions, the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod 2019 crowned Johns’ Boys Male Chorus Choir of the World and Loughgiel Folk Dancers Dance Champions of the World on Saturday 6th July.
After a thrilling final, Johns’ Boys Male Chorus from Rhosllannerchrugog were named Choir of the World, while Loughgiel Folk Dancers from Northern Ireland were crowned Dance Champions of the World. The Pavilion erupted as the groups were announced as world champions by Eisteddfod Chairman, Dr Rhys Davies.

Jodi Bird Named International Voice of Musical Theatre 2019
A Welsh performer has been named Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod’s International Voice of Musical Theatre for 2019.
Jodi Bird, aged 21, wowed audiences and adjudicators with her performances of Woman, originally sung by Stephanie J Block, Tell me on a Sunday by Marti Webb and 14g, a stand alone written by Janine Tesori but made famous by Kristin Chenoweth on the stage of the Royal International Pavilion in the competition’s final on Thursday 4th July.
