Join us for a spectacular day in the Pavilion with Mixed, Chamber and Adult Folk Song Choirs. The final rounds for our Vocal and Instrumental solo’s and the Choreographed/stylized dance groups as well as introducing our brand -new Solo Dance (solo, duet, trio) competition. A day not to be missed!
In the Pavilion today:
- Choral: Mixed Choirs – This competition is for Mixed choirs aged 18 years or over. They will sing a programme of 10 minutes of music. The programme will include repertoire by a composer from the choir’s native country and at least one unaccompanied piece. (original or arrangement).

- Solo Dance: Open Solo Dance (solo, duet, trio) – Competitors in three age categories (11 years and under; 12-17 years and 18 years and over) will perform for up to 2 minutes to a pre-recorded music track (original or commercial in nature). Performances can be from any genre, including, but not limited to, ballet, contemporary dance, folk dance, street dance, tap dance, ballroom dance etc.

- Solo: International Voice of the Future (semi-final) – This competition takes place over 3 days (Prelim Thursday 4th July, Semi-final Friday 5th and Final Saturday 6th July). This competition is for singers aged 19 years and over. Competitors will perform a contrasting programme of up to 7 minutes of music for the Semi-final. Their programme will include contrasting pieces from Oratorio, Opera, Lieder or Song and all music will be sung in the original language.

- Dance: Choreographed/Stylised Folk Dance Group – groups of between 4 and 30 dancers (aged 16 years or over) and total of up to 8 musicians and 2 flag-bearers will perform a programme of up to 5 minutes showcasing the folk dance of the group’s culture. Groups will present creative, entertaining choreography based on their folk-dance traditions.

- Solo: Instrumental/Vocal Folk Solo – instrumentalists/singers of all ages will present a programme not exceeding 6 minutes which is representative of a local or regional tradition.

- Choral: Chamber Choirs – This competition is for Chamber choirs aged 18 years or over. They will sing a programme of 10 minutes of music. The programme will include repertoire by a composer from the choir’s native country and at least one unaccompanied piece. (original or arrangement).

All music will be sung in the original language. The prelim will be in the town and then three soloists will go through to the final on the main stage in the pavilion.

- Choral: Adult Folk Song Choir – This competition is for adult folk song choir aged 18 or over. They will be singing a programme of 7 minutes, which will include repertoire of traditional folk songs from the choir’s own country.
