Hollywood actor Julian heads for blockbuster night in North Wales

A Hollywood actor who has worked with movie greats Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman is heading for a blockbuster performance in North Wales.

The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod have pulled off a major coup in signing up Julian Lewis Jones to narrate the concert adaptation of Georges Bizet’s opera Carmen starring internationally acclaimed opera stars Kate Aldrich and Noah Stewart at the opening concert tomorrow evening (Tuesday, July 5). 100-strong diversity choir will sing out message of peace

A super-choir of over 100 children and adults that celebrates diversity will send out a clarion call for world peace when they perform at an iconic festival.

Thanks to an £8,000 boost from power company ScottishPower’s charitable foundation, the group of choirs and dance groups from across North East Wales will showcase their talents at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. (more…)

A virus has forced Katherine Jenkins to pull out of a concert in North Wales on medical advice but organisers have lined up a “truly world class” opera star to replace her.

The classically-trained Welsh singer was “devastated” after being been struck down by a nasty viral infection but now globally renowned American mezzo soprano, Kate Aldrich, will take centre stage at Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod instead. (more…)
