Biography: Sonya Smith has been singing since she fell out of the cradle.
Known as a singer who also plays guitar, her vocals aren’t an afterthought thrown into the microphone, but the keynote of all the music she performs.
Compared to singers as diverse as Joni Mitchell – to Ella Fitzgerald, her vocals vary from the pure unadulterated ‘voice of an angel’, to a throaty, soulful, bluesy sound.
Accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, Sonya makes full use of her vocal talent to perform a range of music. With her relaxed and masterful use of her voice she sings soulful blues, heart stirring ballads, and foot tapping songs to lift the spirits.
