The Ballet Pod

Biography: The Ballet Pod made its debut performance in Chirk in 2007. Its members are a family group – Clare, Michael and Ann Wall – under the artistic direction of former Royal Ballet dancer Richard Slaughter, who trained all three dancers to advanced level in the Cecchetti Method of classical ballet. They have toured Wales and beyond, performing at events such as the Ulverston International Music Festival, Wrexham Histories Festival and the Welsh National Eisteddfod. The Ballet Pod brings ballet to people in rural communities and to a variety of venues, such as care homes, bookshops, libraries, arts centres, theatres and music festivals. The Ballet Pod also gives educational workshops and gala performances. They perform dances from the great classical ballets, as well as exciting new pieces created by Richard Slaughter and the company themselves.
