“Uniquely talented” soprano Erin is the Voice of the Future

A ‘uniquely talented’ young soprano won one of the main prizes at an international festival – just a few hours after tending the sheep on the family farm.

Erin Rossington, 23, from Llanfairtalhaiarn near Abergele, was crowned as the Pendine International Voice of the Future at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod.

Jools Holland Opens 73rd Llangollen Eisteddfod

Longstanding friend and performer of the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, Jools Holland wows the crowd with energetic performance on the festival’s opening night.

This annual festival promises another week of quality music from the likes of classical tenor Rolando Villazón, Gipsy Kings, and Indie group The Fratellis and it was fitting that the opening concert should be lead by Eisteddfod Vice President, Jools Holland.

#YourLlangollen: Festival Fundraiser

Llangollen Eisteddfod is inviting people to help celebrate the launch of their #YourLlangollen fundraising campaign as part of National Fundraising Week (20th-24th May) with a free event in the town’s Centenary Square on Saturday 25th May from 11am-4pm.

#YourLlangollen aims to raise awareness of the International Eisteddfod’s charity status and how crucial donations are to maintain this unique festival for future generations.

Spend your music festival weekend in style as Glamping comes to Llanfest

From 6th – 8th July, visitors can experience the full festival weekend in style as Glamping comes to Llanfest for the first time.  In partnership with the Red Sky Tent Company, the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod is offering weekend festival-goers deluxe camping for Llanfest – its one-day music festival taking place on Sunday 7th July.  The brand new Llanfest Boutique Camping Village will be offering deluxe glamping just a short distance from all the action on the festival’s Pavilion site in the centre of Llangollen, North Wales.

Liverpool’s Cavern Club returns to Llangollen

North Wales’ week-long summer festival, the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, has announced that the world’s most famous music club, Liverpool’s Cavern Club, will return this year.

After debuting its first ever pop-up stage last year at the International Eisteddfod, the Liverpool-based club is returning to entertain audiences at the festival’s finale party, called Llanfest, on Sunday 7th July.

Heritage Lottery Fund to help Llangollen Eisteddfod Archive the Past

Today, Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod has received a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant of £19,900 for an exciting heritage project, Archiving the Past. Made possible by money raised by National Lottery players, the project will be the first step in collating and digitalising the wealth of archive material relating to Llangollen Eisteddfod, so that it can be enjoyed by all.

Supported through The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project will enable Llangollen Eisteddfod to employ an archivist who will work with volunteers and children from Dinas Brân School to bring the history of Llangollen Eisteddfod to life. Work will include developing a sustainable and expandable online archive system, educational resources and displays for use in the community and a short film about the history of the Llangollen Eisteddfod.
