In the Pavilion today: Today in the pavilion we kick off with our Instrumental ensemble competition. With a wonderful variety of ensembles from all over the world it is sure to get you ready for a full day of competitions. With Dance, Children’s Choirs and Vocal and Instrumental solo finals it is a day not to be missed!
Instrumental: Instrumental Ensemble – this competition includes ensembles of a minimum of 3 people playing a repertoire of two contrasting pieces of up to 8 minutes in total in any style or genre.

Solo: International Voice of Musical Theatre Final – this competition is for singers aged 18 and over and the prestigious prize is intended to advance the career of an amateur musical theatre performer. The finalists will be performing a contrasting programme of up to 10 minutes of music chosen from the standard musical theatre repertoire. All music will be sung in the original language.

Folk Dance: Traditional Folk Dance – this competition is for groups of at least 4 dancers aged 16 or over. They will perform a programme of up to 6 minutes showcasing the folk-dance traditions of their culture. They may be accompanied by up to 8 musicians and 2 flag-bearers.

Solo: Young Classical Voice of the Future Final – This competition is for singers aged 13 to 17 who will be to performing a programme of up to 6 minutes of music. The Programme must include contrasting pieces from the classical genre and all music will be sung in the original language.

Choral: Children’s Folk Song Choirs – This children’s choir competition is for groups of no fewer than 12 members aged 18 and under. They will be singing a programme of 7 minutes, which will include repertoire of two contrasting choral arrangements of traditional folk songs from the choir’s own country.
