Biography: Allegra Ladies’ Choir is a group of adult women from South Wales, who have come together with the purposes of discovering the joy of music, having fun, and assisting charitable causes.
Since forming in 2011, the choir has flourished into a thriving, talented group of over 50 singers. We are proud of our diverse membership base and welcome everyone who loves to sing, from complete beginners to experienced choristers. We are a community choir and so there is no audition to join and, in fact, many of our choristers cannot even read music.
We have a large and varied concert programme, which has been developed substantially over the last few years. We have been delighted to perform at some of the UK’s most prestigious venues and with many big-name singers, but we are equally comfortable singing in beautiful local churches. To date, we have helped raise many tens of thousands of pounds for charitable causes.
