Biography:

Bax Choir is an English choir based at Heath Mount School in Hertfordshire, England.

Named after the esteemed composer and Heath Mount alumnus, Sir Arnold Bax. There is a tradition of high-level choral singing at Heath Mount, and Bax Choir is made up of the school’s most experienced singers aged 10-13.

They have performed in some of the UK’s foremost concert halls and have toured abroad, including in France, Germany, Hungary and Italy. In 2024 they were finalists in the Barnado’s Choral Competition and won the Bedford Choral Competition Cup. The choir have also collaborated with the legendary Katherine Jenkins, Marisha Wallace, and the London Concert Orchestra in June 2020, featuring as the Children’s Choir in a virtual recording of `World in Union`.

At the prestigious Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod , they won 1st Prize in the Children’s Folk Choirs Competition and 2nd Prize in the Junior Children’s Choir competition in 2019. Also, as the highest scoring children`s choir at the Eisteddfod, Bax Choir was crowned Children’s Choir of the World 2019, and awarded the impressive Owen Davies Trophy. Last year they placed third in the open children’s choir class.
