Biography:
Chester Ladies Choir is a group of around 45 ladies of all ages who love to sing. We have been established since 1955 so are about to celebrate our 70th year in 2025. We are based in Chester, although we have members from across Cheshire, Wirral and North Wales.
We meet every week in Chester and enjoy singing a wide range of music from classical pieces to modern pop and jazz. We hold our own concerts in Spring and at Christmas and also sing and support local and charity events.
Our Music Director is Jan Hutchings who is an experienced contralto soloist and has been a member of many choirs and vocal ensembles. She is currently the principal Musical Director for Chester Operatic Society.
Our Choir Accompanist is Alison Dale who is a pianist, teacher and examiner and also sings in a choir. Alison runs a music education business teaching music to pupils of a variety of ages and abilities.
Chester Ladies Choir is a well-respected choir and its friendly members have fun singing together.
