Biography: Derby Grammar School Barbershop Choir began at the request of some of the students in 2015 who wanted to explore some challenging, close harmony of the style. Since then they have enjoyed singing a wide variety of music from classic 50s and 60s songs by Ricky Nelson and The Beatles to more contemporary music by Boyz II Men and Pentatonix. The group has won the vocal ensemble category at the Derby Arts Festival for 2 years running and performs regularly at school concerts such as at Derby Cathedral, Speech Nights and our carol service, and is also hired for external functions.
