Biography:
Frodsham Sings is a friendly, inclusive and affordable mixed community choir established in 2014 with the aim of encouraging all ages and abilities (including some with seen and unseen disability) to experience the joy of singing!
From humble beginnings as a social singing group of around a dozen people the choir has grown to a total membership of c80 people – some join mainly for social interaction but we have a core of 60 or so members who willingly perform for local charities.
Word of mouth has spread to the extent that in addition to a busy 2024 and packed out Christmas schedule, we are delighted to be supporting Prevent Breast Cancer at their Christmas gathering of 400 guests in Manchester Cathedral!
After several years of supporting Eisteddfod through bringing 60 people to visit the Eisteddfod for the day and purchasing seats, we were privileged to be invited last year to perform at a very rainy Eisteddfod (as some of our videos on our YouTube channel testify, particularly the recording of us singing through the downpour in Town Hall Square!) and we brought 60 performers and 30 supporters to the day.
Initially intended as a special event for our 10th Anniversary, our members ‘caught’ the Eisteddfod bug and without exception asked if we could attend once more for 2025 – and hopefully get an audience on the Eisteddfod field rather than lots of rain!
As a personal aside from the MD, the video in Town Hall square of us getting caught in heavy rain just encapsulates the choir spirit – not one complaint and the joy is evident! Hoping to see you again in 2025.
