Music Of The Americas is a guitar-led jazz quartet that takes its inspiration from the close harmony sounds of the legendary George Shearing, as well as travelling south of the border to pay tribute to Brazilian samba and bossa nova.

The Academy’s Showband has had the fortunate opportunity of performing twice at Carnegie Hall, New York in the last 12 years, winning a Gold Award in New York Band Festival in 2007 and then performing in the Showcase evening concert at the New York Band Festival in 2010.

Daniel Laws (guitar, vocals & composer) formed BRENIG with friends Mandy Martin (mandolin, guitar and vocals) and Mary Martin (fiddle) in 2012 to perform his songs. Mary left the band last year but will join them on the occasional local concert and future recording.

The Coral were formed in 1996 in Hoylake on the Wirral Peninsula, their popularity is reflected in having sold over a million UK albums since their debut EP release in 2001, five of those hitting the top ten, including the chart-topping “Magic and Medicine” (2003).
