Biography: Suanplu Chorus is a 30+ voices SATB chorus based in Bangkok, Thailand. Formally established in 2000 by Dusdi Banomyong as executive director and Dr. Kittiporn Tantrarungroj as conductor. Suanplu Chorus has been a pioneer in combining the beauty of Thai music with Western choral tradition ever since. Over the years, the chorus has educated and entertained its ever growing Thai audience with choral music, a genre to which the Thai are not normally accustomed. Suanplu chorus performs regularly for international events, government’s official functions, special charitable events, and in our annual concert.
Notable performances included the inaugural performance of the ASEAN anthem at the ASEAN Summit, a concert at the International Cultural Diversity Festival at the UNESCO Headquarter in Paris, and as a representative of Thailand at the “1000 Voices for Peace” in commemoration of the 100 years of World War I at Belgium.
