Quartet Draig are a Welsh String Quartet committed to giving a platform to music by Welsh composers, and performing intimate music for strings. They formed in 2020 during their studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where they were winners of the Albion String Quartet and Bridgewood & Neitzert chamber prizes. They have made multiple appearances at the Wigmore Hall (Cavatina Competition, Musicians Company Competition), were Young Artists at Cowbridge Music Festival 2023 and 2024, and in 2021 were Junior Quartet in Residence at the ESTA Conference.As a Wales-based ensemble invested in the arts scene, they have commissioned works by the Wales-based composers Mark Boden and Cameron Biles-Liddell and have performed and workshopped extensively around Wales. Recent performance highlights have included at the National Museum for Wales and for the Welsh Government.
