Intatana

Intatana will be joining us Saturday 11th July, taking part in the Traditional Folk-Dance Group competition.  This competition will be held in the Main Pavilion.

Biography:

Intatana are a group of Burundians drummers. The Intatana Club was founded in 2001 and has members ranging in age from 8-50 years old. The group performs the Burundian Dance which is an old Traditional dance and was usually played for Kings. The group aims to represent the Burundian culture nationally as well as internationally, they have won different prizes in various regions and countries. Intatana believe that the Burundian drums, are a tremendous form of communication and a sign of national unity. The group aim to convey a positive message by sustaining the tradition of the community which was broken by the civil war crisis.
