Biography:
Abbeydale Singers is a Sheffield-based choir of 40 members, under the direction of Lucy Joy Morris. The choir has performed at a wide range of venues including Sheffield City Hall, Bristol Cathedral, Edinburgh Castle, Christ Church Cathedral Dublin and Saint Bavo’s Cathedral Ghent. They have enjoyed considerable success in choral competitions and in 2023 won the prestigious Choir of the Festival award at the Isle of Man Festival of Choirs. Abbeydale Singers perform two major concerts each year, one in the summer and the other at Christmas, and usually tour every other year. The group has a strong commitment to the development of young musicians in the region, and their concerts have provided a platform to young soloists, many of whom have progressed into successful musical careers. They look forward to celebrating the choir’s 40th anniversary in 2026-27.
