Inspirational young singer Joseph chosen to star with Sir Bryn Terfel

An “inspirational” young singer who overcame a rare kidney condition has landed a dream role to perform with opera superstar Sir Bryn Terfel.

Joseph Elwy Jones, 11, will take to the stage at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod as the Shepherd Boy in a star-studded production of Puccini’s classic opera, Tosca.

The concert on Tuesday, July 4, which is being sponsored by arts-loving care organisation Pendine Park, also features two other world-class opera stars, soprano Kristine Opolais and tenor Kristian Benedikt.

Original 1947 International Eisteddfod Competitors, Colne Valley Male Voice Choir to join forces with the formidable Froncysyllte (Fron) and Rhosllanerchrugog (Rhos) male voice choirs for the festival’s 70^th Anniversary Opening Concert

A male voice choir that performed at the first ever International Eisteddfod in 1947 will sing alongside two of Wales’ most prolific male voice choirs at the event’s landmark 70^th Anniversary opening concert on Monday 3^rd July.
