Liverpool’s Cavern Club returns to Llangollen

North Wales’ week-long summer festival, the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, has announced that the world’s most famous music club, Liverpool’s Cavern Club, will return this year.

After debuting its first ever pop-up stage last year at the International Eisteddfod, the Liverpool-based club is returning to entertain audiences at the festival’s finale party, called Llanfest, on Sunday 7th July.

Parade of Nations tours the region

In a break from tradition the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod has taken its annual ‘Parade of Nations’ to the streets of nearby towns and cities.

The annual ‘vibrant carnival of cultures’ parade features performers waving flags representing their nation. It has always taken place in the quaint festival host town of Llangollen. For the first time in the festival’s history, volunteers toured the streets of Liverpool, Chester, Wrexham and Oswestry to celebrate the launch of the International Eisteddfod’s fun-filled daytime programme.

International Eisteddfod and The Cavern COME TOGETHER

The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod announced today that the world’s most famous music club, The Cavern Club, will host its first ever pop-up stage at this year’s festival. The Liverpool-based music venue will be joining bands including the Kaiser Chiefs at the festival’s finale party, Llanfest, on Sunday 8th July, as the date also marks the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ animated film Yellow Submarine.

This exciting collaboration on the Lindop Toyota  Globe Stage will see The Cavern Club entertain audiences with performances by their world class resident musicians.

The legendary club has been the beating heart of Liverpool’s iconic music scene for over seven decades and will celebrate The Beatles pop history at the festival – hosting a myriad of music performances by world class singers from Liverpool.
