The Eisteddfod opens with International Children’s Day themed ‘Our World, Our Voice’. The programme features a selection of interesting performances, workshops and entertainment which is aimed at school children, including a morning concert in the Pavilion.

Wednesday 8 July

The first full day of competitions is not to be missed as children’s choirs and folk dance groups take centre stage. One of the most inspiring initiatives of the Eisteddfod, the award-winning Inclusion Project, supported by Grosvenor Insurance Services will be performed under the theme ‘Kaleidoscope’ and promises to be as moving as ever.

Today our energetic and colourful dance competitions get underway with the Choreographed Folk and Traditional Dance categories, as well as the Adult Folk Song Choirs, Youth Choirs and new for 2020, the Show Choirs competition.

Our main choral competition day is not to be missed, as top class choirs from all across the globe will perform on the prestigious Eisteddfod stage. You can see the world’s best Mixed, Female, Male, and Open Choirs choirs fight it out to be crowned Choir of the World. Today we also introduce our new Contemporary Dance competition. Winners from this new competition will  join the winners from the Traditional and Choreographed Dance competitions to compete for the Dance Champion Title on Saturday evening.
