Brisbane Grammar School Chamber Strings

Biography: The Chamber Strings has long been one of the signature string ensembles of Brisbane Grammar School, one of Australia’s finest private schools. It is an auditioned chamber string ensemble consisting of the finest string players at the school. The Brisbane Grammar School String Program is one of the most extensive and renowned string programs in the nation with hundreds of boys involved in group and private tuition, seven chamber ensembles and two symphony orchestras. Each year the Chamber Strings share their music with a wide audience, performing at a range of community and school events. In 2010 they undertook a highly successful concert tour of Europe where they participated in the Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival in Vienna. In 2014 they undertook their second highly successful tour of Italy and Greece. Each year they host their own String Festival which brings together some of the most outstanding school string ensembles in the state of Queensland to perform professional standard repertoire with a focus on new music. 

Their participation in the Eisteddfod will be the final leg of a 2 1/2 week concert tour of Europe which will take them to Paris, the WW1 battlefields of the Western Front in France, London and Llangollen.
