When Ysgol Clywedog purchased a set of Caribbean steel pans – a rare set of instruments to the Wrexham area – with the aim of providing children with a collaborative musical experience outside of normal lessons, little did they know the significant impact this would have in developing student’s confidence and sense of community. You’re bound to recognise some of their covers; a perfect opening for our new Music Stage.
Following a successful grant application, Ysgol Clywedog purchased a set of Caribbean steel pans – a rare set of instruments to the area with the aim to provide children with a collaborative musical experience outside of normal structured lessons, developing their confidence and building a sense of community.
The school provides free tuition to anyone who wants to learn the Steel Pans as we strive to make learning a musical instrument inclusive so everyone has the opportunity to learn, take part and perform music.
