Di Voci Women’s Choir

Di Voci Women’s Choir was formed in 2007 by Musical Director, Lorraine Brown. It is based in Altrincham, Cheshire and for the most part performs in and around Cheshire and Manchester.

Lorraine Brown studied singing at Trinity College of music. She has extensive experience as a soloist in opera and oratorio and as a chorister. Lorraine worked as a singing teacher in both private and state schools in South Manchester as well as teaching privately.

The choir has a wide repertoire of music from the classics, folksongs and religious works to modern music. They perform a number of concerts a year including festival performances both in the UK and abroad, charity concerts and at private functions.

The choir regularly tours both in the UK and Europe. Since 2012 it has performed in the cathedrals of Durham, Lincoln and Liverpool, and Lancaster Priory as well as in stunning cultural venues in Paris, Krakow, Limerick and Prague.

Although Di Voci do not regularly enter competitions their inaugural success came at the Alderley Edge Music festival in 2013. Since then they have entered other competitions winning the North Wales Choral Competition (2014), becoming a finalist in the Great British Choir Prom (2017), fourth at the Isle of Man Festival of Choirs (2023) and later this Spring will have taken part in the Bangor International Choral Festival.
