Biography: Karandash play traditional Eastern European and Balkan folk music from the Danube to the Volga.
A three-piece encompassing balalaika, accordion, guitar and sweeping harmonies, Karandash’s set includes an exciting range of music spanning Greek Rebetika, Macedonian and Polish dance tunes, Jewish wedding songs, and gypsy folk.
Formed in 2014, Karandash recently finished a European tour, performing at arts centres and small festivals across Germany, Austria and Hungary. Closer to home, they regularly play venues in London, Brighton and South East. K
