Biography: On November 27, 1904, 21 young men founded the Liederkranz Netphen. Soon, the choir enjoyed general popularity, as evidenced by increasing membership. Today, 50 singers of all ages sing in their choir. The Liederkranz Netphen is a laureate of numerous national choir competitions. In recent years, the group won many prizes in several international choral competitions (1999 in Budapest, 2000 in Prague, 2004 in Riva Del Garda, 2011 in Wernigerode and 2016 in Grado, (each with the Golden Award and category winner). Thomas Bröcher directs the choir since ten years and continues the successful work of his predecessors. The repertoire of the choir includes all songs for male choirs from all eras. Every year, the Liederkranz Netphen gives one or two concerts, with well-known soloists and guest choirs, as well as contributing to the musical accompaniment at various festivities in the town of Netphen.
