Mold Town Concert Band

Mold Town Concert Band The band was originally formed as the Argoed Concert Band in 1997. Adopted by Mold Town Council in 1999 we became the Mold Town Band, changing our name in 2002 to Mold Town Concert Band (to avoid being confused with a brass or silver band!) The band continues to thrive, having seen a recent expansion in membership, and currently consists of over 40 friendly & enthusiastic musicians who play a variety of woodwind/brass instruments. We are open to all ages from school students through to retired members – currently ranging from approximately 13 to 80 plus! The band is a registered charity and receives support from the Mold Town Council in return for ‘official duties’ such as the Remembrance Sunday Parade, playing at the switching on of Christmas illuminations and at Mold Carnival. Performances encompass a variety of venues, both open-air and indoors, in the immediate locality and beyond in the Chester, Liverpool and North Wales areas. Members pay a small monthly subscription – £7.00 with effect from April 2019, but students and children are exempt from this. And, following a the prolonged Covid enforced absence the Band is delighted that rehearsals are now back up and running! Until further notice, these will now take place at Bryn Coch CP School, Victoria Road, Mold, CH7 1EW each Monday from 7:15 pm – 8:45 pm. Rehearsals are always enjoyable, under the expert guidance of our new musical director Alan Milnes, so if you are considering joining a band for the first time, or feel like getting back to playing, you could not make a better choice than Mold Town Concert Band! We have been delighted to continually welcome many new members, so if you want to join, see our contacts page and/or come along to a rehearsal and have a go.
