Wrexham Concert Band, is a vibrant and community-based musical ensemble, which is a cornerstone of musical culture in the heart of the City of Wrexham. The band is led by our musical director Scott Lloyd, who brings a wealth of experience, and musicality and leadership to the role, fostering a collaborative and disciplined approach among the musicians. His energy and enthusiasm are pivotal in the success and growth of the band.
From its inception, Wrexham Concert Band has actively engaged with the local community. The band hosts regular concerts, and supports community events, providing opportunities for people of all ages to experience the joy of music. Have you been to the Llangollen Eisteddfod before? Yes
Where and how often do you rehearse? We rehearse weekly on Tuesday evenings 7.30-9.30pm in Parciau Community Centre, Bellevue Road, Wrexham LL13 7LY
Do you have any interesting stories about your group? The group was first formed in 2021, many of our members have returned to playing years after stopping some even 30 years. This is improving well-being and reducing social isolation.
