Band: Red Priest
Experience the very best of our international performers as the winners of the week’s main choral competitions take to the stage in this explosive finale concert, competing for the title Choir of the World and the prestigious Pavarotti Trophy. Each choir will present a contrasting programme reflecting the quality and range of their vocal skills in an attempt to win over the adjudicators and wow the audience. The winners of the adult folk dance categories will also entertain us with imaginative and spirited routines as they compete for the Dance Champions of the World award.
Our special guests Red Priest will contribute to the excitement of the evening with their exhilarating technical wizardry and showmanship. This Baroque instrumental group, named after the flame-haired priest Antonio Vivaldi, will perform a range of early music on recorders, violin, cello and harpsichord. Injecting energy and a gypsy feel to early music, the group’s CD ‘The Baroque Bohemians’ reached no.1 in the UK Classical Specialist Chart bringing baroque music to completely new audiences. The extraordinary acoustic foursome are renowned for their dynamic, charismatic and visionary performances so be prepared to join in the revelry as we paint the town red!
