The Huangpu Youth Art Activity Center Orchestra of Shanghai Student Art Troupe will be joining us Thursday 9th July, taking part in the Instrumental Ensemble competition. This competition will be held in the main Pavilion.

Biography:

The Huangpu Youth Art Activity Center Orchestra of Shanghai Student Art Troupe, supported by the Huangpu District Education Bureau, provides a platform for young people to engage with and perform classical music. It focuses on enhancing students’ artistic appreciation and cultural literacy, fully reflecting the awareness of of youth in the new era who are patriotic and aligning with the Party.

Under the professional guidance of experts from various fields in Shanghai, the orchestra has participated in numerous large-scale performances and competitions at different levels. It has received multiple awards at international, national, municipal, and district levels, including the First Prize in the Shanghai Division of the National Primary and Secondary School Art Exhibition by the Ministry of Education, the Championship at the Philadelphia International Music Festival, and Gold Awards in various categories of the Shanghai Student Art Individual Competition.

Li Hanyu, Permanent Conductor of the Center Orchestra, studied under Mr. Lin Daye. He is a member of the Shanghai Musicians Association and the founder of the Star Cello Chamber Ensemble. He graduated from the Affiliated High School of Shenyang Conservatory of Music and the Department of Orchestral Instruments at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Associate Professor Chen Weiping. He has performed with the Asian Youth Orchestra and the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra.
