Llanfest Full line-up Revealed

The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod has revealed the full star-studded outside stage line-up for this year’s Llanfest (Sunday 8th July, 2pm). The Eisteddfod opens with ‘Earth’s little Heroes’ International Children’s Day. Our Matinee performances ‘World Warriors’ will include pupils from local Denbighshire schools and will focus on the environment and pupils from local Wrexham schools will deliver the poignant Peace Message. Enjoy international performances with participants Holloways Childrens Choir, China and the Kakatsitsi, Master Drummers from Ghana, featuring Mbilou, Bwiti Ngagnga from Gabon. Sponsored by MBNA.

Today we celebrate the power of participation in the arts –  regardless of age, ability or experience. Come along and prepare to be inspired! The day will be filled with music and dance workshops so you can try something new…. On our three outside stages, we have the Haberdashers’ Abraham Darby Academy,  Confucius Institute and performances from North Wales Opera Studio, young soloists Elin Wright and Shea Ferron and acoustic singer Leonie Anne Kirby, Dance Workshops from NEW Dance, The Story Teller, circus skills with Panic Circus and lots of International Choirs and Folk Dance Groups

Llangollen Eisteddfod was established in 1947 as a means of uniting nations through music. Today we showcase music from all over the world with performances of intercultural song and dance all around the field. Lively marimba band Otto & The Mutapa Calling treat us to the energetic, joyful music from Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe whilst Mambo Jambo will take you on an exciting and joyous musical journey with a mash-up of sounds from world, roots, folk and jazz.
