Blodau Papur is a Welsh band led by Alys Williams, blending psychedelic blues and funk with her distinctive vocals. The group features experienced musicians including Branwen Hâf Williams (keys), Aled Hughes (bass), Osian Huw Williams (guitar), Gwion Llewelyn, and Dafydd Hughes on drums. Since forming in 2017, they have performed across the UK, including with the BBC Orchestra, and built a strong live reputation.
They released several singles in 2019, including “Tyrd Ata I,” “Llygad Ebrill,” and “Yma,” followed by their self-titled debut album in June 2019, along with “Morfydd” appearing on the compilation X for I KA CHING’s tenth anniversary. The band are currently working on their second album, expected in 2027.
