Jon Sterckx is a percussionist, tabla player and educator with more than thirty years’ experience performing and teaching global percussion traditions. Specialising in Indian tabla, Jon is best known for his solo Drumscapes performances, blending world percussion with live sampling technology to create energetic rhythmic soundscapes. He has performed at festivals including WOMAD and twice at TED events, with his 2016 TEDxWarwick performance selected for the TED Global Music Project. Jon has also recorded and performed with Christopher Tin and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, alongside a wide range of international artists and educational projects.
