Who is Movema?

Vision

Movema celebrates diversity through dance, creating safe spaces for different communities to come together and learn about each other through high-quality arts experiences.

This year we celebrated being 10 years old!

Movema’s not-for-profit company structure means money made is put back into the organisation and redistributed to deliver projects for communities, making world dance and arts accessible to all.

The story so far…

Movema was founded in Liverpool in 2009 by Penny Caffrey, Ithalia Forel, Maria Malone and Pei Tong.  Each member was on their own journey through dance, culture and identity, when they realised that by bringing all of their collective skills and experience together, they could create something unique.

Since then the collective has grown into a thriving organisation reaching out too thousands of people each year.
