Biography: Music in Hospitals & Care (MiHC) brings interactive live music sessions to people who are receiving care or treatment in healthcare settings across the UK. They aim to make people feel good, one tune at a time. MiHC is a UK charity, founded in 1948. Their live musical sessions are designed to humanise clinical settings, to reach and connect people, to encourage communication and meaningful interactions and to elicit emotions and memories when it matters most. They organise around 4,500 music sessions a year for people of all ages receiving care or treatment for an illness or disability. Their professional musicians visit hospitals, hospices, care homes, day centres, special schools and community settings. Every session is unique and tailored to meet the needs of each audience group. They have offices in England, Scotland and Wales and over 450 musicians spread far and wide across the country. Together, and thanks to the generosity of our supporters, they are able to bring the benefits of engagement with live music to over 100,000 people in care each year.
