A bit about Voicebox:

Voicebox is a platform for performers in Wrexham, North Wales. Now in it’s fifth year, Voicebox places new and emerging artists alongside national and international renowned spoken word, music and performance artists. We host a monthly open mic, with local and international headliners. We run events in Wrexham to promote literature such as International Dylan Thomas Day and National Poetry Day. and our members perform at some of the best festivals in the country include Focus Wales, as well as supporting international artists such as Button Poetry’s Neil Hilborn, Sabina Benaim and Rudy Franscisco.

Voicebox offers performance and publication opportunities, educational programmes or workshops and generally fits performance in unlikely places.

Some of our members have gone from first time performers to international battle rappers, national spoken word performers, released multiple records and publications.

At Llangollen Eisteddfod

As part of the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod Voicebox is bringing some of Wales’ most exciting performers to showcase local talent. Such as Double-Barrelled, founder of Voicebox and wales-wide hip hop platform The Larynx, Storyhouse Poet-in-Residence Lianne Futia and prolifically published local favourite David Subacchi.
